Norris Observation Deck

Situated off of West Germantown Pike, Norristown Farm Park was previously used to supply milk and other necessities to the local psychiatric hospital. Today it remains as both farmland for soybeans and corn, and also public open space for hiking, biking, fishing, educational tours and various other outdoor activities. The early design brief for the studio was to create a viewing platform that gave users an all encompassing experience of the corn fields, local woods, rehabilitating marsh and creek, a complete sense of the park in one snapshot.

As the project progressed, my ultimate role in the group became detailing the pavilion structure above the decking. I was especially interested in concealing and parring down as much of the structure as possible so as not to pull focus away from the view and user experience.
