Neighborly Duboce

Living

Apart of a larger master planning exercise, this development at the intersections of Church and Duboce and Church and Market looks to promote neighborly connections between varied user groups by providing ample open space, a large community center and housing typologies that cater to our varied user groups and promotes social interactions between them.

Users connect through word-of-mouth and the large central courtyard which pulls entries from mid-block on Market, the busy corner of Church and Market, as well as across from the Presbyterian church on Church street. The elevation of the family housing on Duboce Ave takes its cues from the contextual color palette of the single-family housing in the Duboce Triangle and Dolores Heights neighborhoods. Two-story townhouses on the lowest level express this palette through their window frames and provide a base for the expression above. Bay-windows provide connection back to the traditional San Francisco house and a playful element to reinforce the use of color and provide way-finding for children.

Wow, you're reading the footer. Really, even with this super light font? You got those young eyes.

I mean kudos; here's a fun fact for your troubles. Did you know kiwi's lay eggs that are 25% of their body weight? Go figure.
